Laura Montgomery's Berlin Fundraiser
Fundraising to get Laura Montgomery to Berlin for the June Special Olympics.

Laura Montgomery has been selected by Special Olympics NZ to represent NZ in Basketball at the World Summer Games in Berlin in June 2023. The cost to each participant is $18,000 which is up to the competitors to raise for themselves.
Helen (Laura's Mother) has asked the wider family to help her raise the funds needed to participated as it is a large amount and we don’t have a lot of time to raise it.
We are working to engage in grants and business sponsorship as well as doing fundraising events over the few months however we would also like to appeal to friends and family to help Laura make it to Berlin.
We really appreciate any support you can give Laura.

Use of funds
The $18,000 we are aiming to raise is based of the full cost of participation of an athlete as set by Special Olympics New Zealand. It includes all travel, accommodation, food, participation and uniform costs.

Update on Laura's Berlin fundraising 24 February 2023
Hi all, just thought I would update you all on how the fundraising is going to get Laura to the World Summer Special Olympic Games in Berlin in June. We have got just over halfway to the $18,000 we need to raise and just made our first of three instalments of $6k to the Special Olympics NZ. This has been made up of $4k from last weeks Quiz Night at the Cossie Club, $650 from a Sausage Sizzle at Mitre 10 a couple of weeks back, $1.5k from direct donations and $3.5k from all you generators donors through our Give A Little page. We really appreciate your support and would also really appreciate if you could pass this page on to a couple of people you know who may be able to help, we can keep the wheels turning. I have attached a photo from the Quiz Night to show the generosity of local (Upper Hutt) business who donated over $1k in goods for us to use as Raffle prizes at the Quiz. Again thank you.
