Help these 10 school kids build a skate park for the youth in our town. It’s a terrific project, with an amazing back story.
Otago
A group of 10 students at Lawrence Area School started this project in August 2017. The wanted to create a skate park for the youth of Lawrence, somewhere safe for kids to ride scooters and skateboards, that would keep kids away from footpaths and driveways. They held a town meeting and formed a committee. We have now started fundraising, but quotes suggest we need about $100,000 - $150,000 to realise the dream of these students.
We want these kids to be successful in their project, and to see their idea through to completion. This will be an amazing asset to our little town, and a great activity to keep our youth occupied and entertained.
We would love it if you could make a small donation, and then share the link to encourage others to do the same.
All monies raised will be spent on design, materials and labour to build a skate park. If there is excess money raised we would love to include bike tracks for you get children.
Upcoming fundraisers 18 September 2018
We are very busy fundraising this month.
Saturday 29th September we are holding a car boot sale and sausage sizzle.
Friday 5th October we are helping to cater for the Lawrence Chinese Lantern Festival, by selling
Muffins and hot drinks to the the guests.
Saturday 6th October we are hosting a pre-season pool party at the Tuapeka Aquatic sentence. This was so much fun last year, we can’t wait to run it again this year.
As you can see, we are working very hard within our community to raise funds for our skatepark.
