Laying Norma Fenton to rest, with love.

Please help Mīharo lay her Mama to rest.

Michelle Edwards - Mīharo - , has been the full time carer for her disabled Mother, Norma Fenton, for the past decade. Norma lived with Cerebral Palsy with right side Hemiplegia, requiring 24/7 care. Mīharo has solely and selflessly been her caregiver and advocate for 12 + years, ensuring that her Mama had the loving care that she deserved.

Sadly, on the morning of May 7th 2025, Norma gave up her lifelong battle, and passed away. This is absolutely devastating for Mīharo and her whanau.

This page has been set up to fundraise towards any tangi and travel related expenses, with the aim of easing the financial strain on Mīharo and her whānau. Anything at all that you can contribute will mean the absolute world, big or small.

Norma was absolutely blessed to have a daughter who sacrificed her own life to care for, and advocate for her. Having been born to two parents with disabilities, Mīharo deserves some blessings of her own. She is a solo mother, who because of her sacrifices made, is not in a financial position to cover funeral related costs, and this added stress is the absolute last thing she needs to be worrying about.

Family carers of the disabled in NZ are certainly not shown the recognition that they deserve, but as the people, we can! Please help.
