We are a family of four (2 children Joshua 12yrs & Benjamin 9yrs) living in a leaky home in Rangiora, Canterbury. Every time it rains water seeps from the skirting boards inside onto towels which lay under the carpet. To keep the water out of the gib board & the house healthy enough to live in we run a dehumidifier & HRV system/vent in each room & a heat pump in the main living rooms which is very costly especially in winter. We fall outside the governments 10 year period so therefore do not qualify for any assistance, basically we are on our own. Our previous Give a Little Page has closed due to it being inactive for a period of time and the funds from there went into a $4000 HRV system which keeps the house liveable and the water out of the gib in the meantime.The house has had a scope of works done on it which said it needs a full strip & a re clad costing around $180 000. Use of funds

Funds will be used to give our home a full strip and a re clad and new roof building in eaves and flashings that work. Some areas will require replacement timber within the wall cavity as there is water damage to the dwangs, studs and gib. We will need new kitchen and bathroom units as behind our current ones are water damage and mold. New windows/doors as the new requirement is double glazing and we have single glazing.
