The Fiji Village Project is a trans-pacific medical student initiative that aims to promote sustainable health development in remote Fiji.
Auckland
Fiji Village project is run by medical and nursing students across NZ, Australia, and Fiji, for the rural villages of Fiji. We are raising funds to help build a sustainable rain-water tank in each of the three villages we are visiting as well as provide health screenings and health education sessions for the community. Everything is made relevant to the Fijian communities and to address the barriers to healthcare that they face. We are fundraising for the supplies required to build the rain-water tank and to supply medical equipment to the villages as well as the flights. We will also have the opportunity to work in the hospital, specifically in the birth ward, emergency department and surgery.
I am blessed to be one of the 15 nursing and medical students in New Zealand to be selected for this project. I am excited to learn new practical skills and to make such a life changing impact in the rural villages we visit. I am so thankful for this opportunity to help others and put what I have been studying in to use. Any financial support is hugely appreciated and if you require a receipt for your donation please do not hesitate to message me. Thank you so much!
