Leasa has been diagnosed with terminal cancer. Help her celebrate and share memories with her son, family and friends.
Bay of Plenty
In April 2016 I was diagnosed with stage 4 bowel cancer. After undergoing treatment for 14 months I was given the heartbreaking news I had stopped responding to treatment. Existing tumours were growing and new ones were appearing.
Given the news I would hopefully see next year. I want to spend as much time with my son as I can. To create a lifetime of memories in the short time I have left.
Droydon is 17 years old. I have been a solo-parent to him since he was 2 years old. I can't begin to imagine how this is going to affect him. I want to just make sure I give him lots of happy memories to look back on in the future.
Thankyou in advance for your help. A little goes a long way.
Funds raised will help Leasa make memories with her son Droydon.
September Update. Month 3 8 September 2017
So it has been almost 3 months since the devastating news. I continue to appreciate each and every day I am here.
I have only needed 'strong' pain relief twice in this time. Once for shoulder pain...I slept on it wrong! So not cancer related.
The second last week was the most pain to date. My liver felt like I had spasms where the primary tumour is.There were two when I had my last CT in June, would hate to see it now.
I was keeled over in pain every time a spasm shot through. So much that I could see the worry on Mum's face...I hate seeing her like that :(
Since then it has settled again as much as possible, to a dull ache on my right side under my ribs.
I feel like the princess and the pea when I go to bed at night. As when I lay on my right side it feels like I am laying on something small.
Hopefully the pain holds off for as long as possible to give me more time to enjoy the months ahead.
On the 11 September. Mum and I are off to Melbourne to catch up with Family over there, also to knock off an item on my bucket list.
I have always wanted to go to an enduro round of the Supercars Championship. Bathurst was my first choice, however being 5 days long it would be too much. So we are off to the Sandown 500.
Thankyou all for your help to make this happen.
Will keep you updated on my progress as time goes on.
