Leason Whanau Whare

$54,531 of $50,000 goal
Given by 346 generous donors in over a year

The Leason Whānau who work tirelessly for others, lost their home in a devastating fire on the 13th February 2022.

Otaki, Wellington

Thankfully no-one was hurt.

This is our chance to give back to a Whānau that has given so much to others tirelessly over the years. Adi, Shelley and their 8 tamariki, have shared their home, their property with many, many people over the years.

A fire completely destroyed their whanau home - Long story short, Cyclone Dobi caused a tree to fall over, which hit the powerline, causing power surges - these surges resulted in electrical shorts in the whare which then initiated the house fire. The whānau had just left the house and the neighbours tried to stop it but were unsuccessful.

The Leason whānau do have both Home and Contents Insurance with AMI, however they are significantly underinsured and the insurance process itself is a protracted one.

Let's show them that their aroha and manaakitanga over the years has not gone unnoticed.
