Lee-Anne was diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer while pregnant, this page is to help with some financial relief for her and her family.

Canterbury

After suffering 3 miscarriages Lee-Anne and Gordon finally fell pregnant with their baby boy and they thought all their bad luck was over. Sadly this was not the case for this soon to be family of 3.

In February 2020, at 37yrs old, and 31 weeks pregnant, Lee-Anne was diagnosed with Stage 3 Breast Cancer that had also spread to her lymph nodes.

Since then this "Amazing woman" has conquered an induced birth at 37 weeks.

* A mastectomy to remove the 17cm tumor and her left breast - when Hugo was just 5 days old!!

(all in the midst of a Level 4 COVID Lockdown meaning this was all done alone with no support in hospital)

* 6 months of weekly Chemotherapy

* 5 weeks of daily doses of Radiation Treatment.

So the first 9 months of so of being a mum have not been at all like most of us, who are, have experienced.

While Lee-Anne’s prognosis is good her journey is not over yet. The cancer was hormone related and will require 10 years of treatment including daily medication, monthly injections and early Menopause which means her dream of having more children has been shattered however they are so thankful for Hugo.

Throughout 2020 whilst having her treatments this "Super Mum" took to her social media pages continuously encouraging men and women to check their breasts and also shared her very real and raw journey with everyone along the way. She has raised funds for the Breast Cancer foundation, Cancer society, took part in the Walk for a cure and was a guest speaker at Recycle Runway charity event. She is a real advocate for Breast Cancer.

We want to return some of that endless love and care back to our Gorgeous Lee-Anne and her Husband Gordon. The unexpected costs from the Cancer treatment and extended time off work have taken a toll them financially and emotionally - they have not qualified for any financial help from the government, no benefits or grants, and were unable to access any life insurance or kiwi saver funds to help them through. Times have been very tough for them with her not being able to go back to work.

Please help to take the pressure off for this beautiful family. Let’s help raise some funds and relieve them from the financial hardship they have faced over the last year and in the months to come.

Use of funds

To relieve the financial pressure that this treatment has put on her and Gordon to cover the costs of day to day life, help them get back on there feet and maybe had a nice break away at the end of her treatment.
