Forestry worker Lee Cox sustained life changing injuries, let's show him some support!
Canterbury
Monday 13 June 2016, Rangiora logger Lee Cox sustained life changing injuries in a horrific accident at work. We are so incredibly lucky to still have Lee with us, but he does have a big road to recovery ahead of him.
Lee has a broken wrist with tendon and skin damage which has been fixed from surgery, he has a fracture in his neck and a disk that has slipped out of place. His biggest battle is his broken back which he also had surgery on and has damaged his spinal cord. This has left him with no feeling below the waist and an outlook of possibly not being able to walk again.
Lee has a great attitude towards his road of recovery. Lee (23) is engaged to Brooke, they have 15 month old Paisley and a baby due in December. While their future is bright with the pending arrival of their baby, the road is going to be tough, so I urge you please to 'give a little' to help out this young family.
My husband Matt worked in the same logging crew as Lee. Matt has been in Forestry for 16 years and it is a huge part of our life. To have this happen to someone we know, especially who Matt works with each day is just devastating, I couldn't sit back and not do anything.
