Elizabeth has cerebral palsy (spastic diplegia) and needs an operation in the USA and extensive physio to enable her to walk independently.

Dr TS Park: Spasticity causes severe problems as children grow - persistent balance problems, inability to do exercise, deformities, muscle damage and eventual deterioration to develop premature aging. There is no benefit to having spasticity. Spasticity can be permanently removed with SDR.
My name is Elizabeth
I was born very small, with a very sore head after contracting meningitis in the hospital which left me with cerebral palsy.
I can crawl about and I do like to talk, but I really wish I was able to walk.
I'm a bubbly girl who is bright and smart - I like singing, swimming and swings at the park.
There is a special operation in the USA, called Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy – this surgery will really change a lot for me.
Performed by world-renowned Neurosurgeon, Dr TS Parks, it will give me control of my legs for a start.
I’ll be able to walk independently and hope to one day run, “you’d better hide all the toys then!”, I tell my mum.
The operation and six months of physiotherapy afterwards will cost 120,000 dollars, but what price would you put on being able to walk?
By adding your support to the kind-hearted Kiwis who have already donated, you can transform my life! You can help me to walk, you can help me to run, please donate a bit to my surgery fund.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart, you mean more than you know. You’re giving a little girl the chance to grow. With your help I’ll be just like you, and help others as well, just like you do.
Love, Elizabubble
I am Elizabeth's mum. After careful research, we know that SDR is the only option that will allow Elizabeth to walk and live a full complete life.
There have now been 10 New Zealand children that have had SDR and all of them have seen great improvement in their function and ability,
Please help us get Elizabeth walking.
Almost There!! 19 May 2016
America here we come!! On the 27th of July we will be flying to the USA! Elizabeth will have her operation on the 2nd of August, and then spend the rest of the month in their special rehabilitation facility at the hospital in St Louis.
As of today we have $NZ87000 which is enough to cover the surgery and flights with just 12000 remaining for accommodation & rehab.
Elizabeth has been working really hard at physio every day to strengthen her muscles in preparation - she is sooo determined to run around like her little brother!
Our thanks to everyone for their kind generosity so far! Please share her links and facebook, let's get Elizabubble over the line!
