Legs for Leah

A very good friend of ours and a much loved member of our community (Waiheke and Howick), Leah was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and will be going through chemo. We all know how horrible cancer is and the impact it has; so to help the journey a little easier for Leah and her family we are trying to raise money through running the Waiheke Wharf to Wharf (25km) in January in support of her. The Wharf to Wharf is going to be tackled by a group of us (each doing different lengths, most doing the 25km) and if you are not familiar with the 25km run from Orapiu to Matiatia, I can sure say it's a serious challenge.

Leah is a kind, funny, helpful, and all round wonderful woman who would not hesitate to do the same for someone else. Leah and her husband have four young children and is unable to work due to lengthy treatment. All money raised will be going towards helping the family continue to meet the demanding costs of life while they are an income down, and face the battle of getting Leah back to health.

The Nelson family are greatly loved by all of those who know them and we want to do all we can to show our support for them.
