I'm a 17 year old rower from Whakatane. Please help me raise $7500 so I get to the Junior World Champs and make New Zealand proud.
Bay of Plenty
Recently I was selected to represent NZ in the World U19 Junior Rowing Championships. The competition takes place in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil in August. I have been training around 7-8 times a week for the past 4 years to achieve this goal, working my way up from North Island Events to National Events and now finally have been rewarded. This year alone I have rowed 3,800km, nearly 400,000 strokes and burned more than 300,000 calories.
Rowing is the my life, without it I don't know what I'd do. I come from a family of rowers; my brothers compete in my crews and my parents represent our club as masters. Recently my brothers and I were successful at the New Zealand Nationals, taking away 5 gold medals between us. My dream is to one day go to the Olympics and row for New Zealand. Going to Rio for my first taste of World Stage rowing will be a huge step forward for my rowing career.
By donating you will be helping keep me afloat while I train for worlds with the team and assisting me in the huge expenses associated with travelling to Rio. Please donate so I can chase my dreams as far as they will take me, and so I can do what I love most.
Please help me raise $7500 so I can get to the Junior World Champs and make New Zealand proud.
Thanks so much. Always humbling to see my club getting behind me. - Lenny
Thanks so much this is insanely generous. I am actually pretty close to achieving my target with all the other fundraising I've done which is awesome. This puts me really close to 90% funding. Thank you so much!!
