Let’s Back Pommee Lee — He’s Done It Before

Ten years ago, our Gisborne community rallied to support Pommee Lee and his family through a tough time. And here we are again — same big-hearted town, same unstoppable bloke, new chapter.

After a decade riding the rollercoaster of cancer treatment, recovery, and good living, Lee’s health has hit another bump. True to form, he’s meeting it with determination, humour, and that signature impatience to get well and get on with it.

Lee has recently had a few surgical procedures and is now focusing on his next steps in healing. He’s unable to work for the moment, and that’s where we can step in — giving him the space and means to put his full energy into recovery.

He’s not one to complain or ask for help. He gets up, cracks a smile, downs his coffee, and keeps moving forward. He’s defied the odds for over a decade — not out of luck, but through sheer grit, curiosity, and will to be here.

Originally from the UK, but after so many years, Gisborne is home — and the support flowing from both sides of the world says it all.
