Hi Community!
Our friend Camila has had her wallet stolen – on Christmas Eve of all days!
The last time she saw it was after finishing work at the Free House.
When she checked her bank account she noticed someone was using her card and all her money was gone.
The matter is with the police and the bank now, but the problem is that besides her cards she has also lost her passport and driver’s license.
She is not from NZ, so not having any ID it’s very difficult for her since she is not able to get a new Passport without going to the Embassy which is in Wellington (and she clearly does not have the money for going!).
She thought she was in a safe place here in Nelson and is feeling quite hopeless.
Some of us want to help her out, so she knows that there are good people here in Nelson, too.

Hello community!
With much gratitude and joy in my heart, I write to everyone who have contributed their time, money, beautiful words and encouraged me during these stressful days due to the event that happened at Christmas.
For a moment I felt heartbroken, hopeless and very scared because it is not easy to be in a foreign country, without your family, friends and many times feeling that you are alone so far from home, but with all the signs of affection and support from All of you - some that I don't even know - I felt protected again and despite the sadness of what happened, my heart knows and confirms that Nelson is my home and it is thanks to all of you for having my back with this incredible act of support.
You have showed me what it is to be part of this community.
I hope one day to return to the community the help received and continue with the circle of good energy.
