Let's get Mani to Madrid!

In March 2024, Mani attended the Kiwibank Awards for Senior New Zealander of the Year which recognised their 50 years of service to the Intersex community as a queer identifying non-binary person.
As a result of this recognition, they were invited to attend and present at the inaugural elders conference in Madrid as a keynote presenter. This creates a historic opportunity to link the work that has been and is currently being done in Aotearoa with the work that is being done in Europe.
Unfortunately, the organisers, 26 de December Foundation, are a small foundation and are unable to support Mani to get to the conference so they're wanting to do a call out to the community to help them get there!

Use of funds
Airfares, medical insurance, transport, possibly accommodation, and funding a series of presentations about learnings and experiences of the conference when Mani returns.
$350 will go towards Givealittle admin costs!

We made it!
I am humbled, grateful and proud.
The behind the scenes work is done, I have the tickets and am working with my hosts in Madrid to tweak final arrangements.
The issues that we will be addressing in Madrid are many and complex.
We as a community, and many of our allies face a multiplicity of challenges - threats and simple ‘airtime/visibility’.. I think for many of us its about holding space and working all the time to connect dots, hold to that big vision of pushing back on hate and fear - dealing with injustice and working to make planet earth a safe and inspiring place for all of us.
