Muscle Car Madness-legendary car event bringing together car lovers, hot rod fanatics and anyone who appreciates the vehicles of yesteryear

Rangiora, Canterbury

For the past 36 years, the Northern A&P Association has supported Muscle Car Madness, helping attract local, national, and international car enthusiasts to Rangiora to celebrate a shared love of classic cars.

Unfortunately, during this year’s event Rangiora experienced a severe weather event, with heavy rain falling after the event had begun. While most participants navigated the grounds on foot, any vehicle movement around the site caused damage to newly laid grass and topsoil. This damage was made worse when attendees attempted to exit the grounds with caravans and trailers.

We are devastated by the impact this has had on such an important community space and want to support the Northern A&P Association with the restoration of the showgrounds. We are asking the wider Muscle Car Madness family to contribute to this work so we can continue supporting the community and the many events hosted at the grounds.

All donations from this page will be paid directly to the Northern A&P Association, who have engaged their own contractors to carry out the required repairs. The total cost of remediation is $30,000. Muscle Car Madness is also contributing, as the damage caused while we were on site is not covered by insurance.

We look forward to continuing our long‑standing relationship with the Northern A&P Association and the Rangiora community that has supported us for 36 years.

Use of funds

All funds raised will be presented to the Northern A & P association to assist with remediation of the Rangiora Showgrounds after damage was caused to recently sown grass and topsoil during an extreme weather event.

The grass is growing!   17 March 2026

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your generous support of this special community space. The A&P Association grounds are more than just grass and fences — they are a place where our community comes together to celebrate, connect, and create memories.

After the devastating weather bomb that struck during Muscle Car Madness in January, the grounds were left badly damaged. It was a tough setback for a place that so many people cherish and rely on. But thanks to the commitment of the Association, the hard work of contractors, and the incredible support of our community, the recovery is well underway.

The grounds have now been re-levelled, re-sown, and fitted with improved drainage, and with the return of some sunshine, fresh green grass is once again coming through — a powerful sign of renewal and resilience.

We are still warmly welcoming donations to help cover the cost of the work completed to date. Every contribution, big or small, helps protect this shared space and ensures it remains available for the many community events, gatherings, and celebrations held here throughout the year.

By supporting this restoration, you are helping care for a place that belongs to all of us — a space that continues to serve the wider Rangiora community and bring people together, time and time again. Thank you for being part of that journey.

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
