Lets help David to get through these next few weeks of uncertainty and ease the burden for him so he can focus on rebuilding his business.
Canterbury
David has had a rough few years. He lost everything in the Christchurch quakes. It took him a long time to re-establish his book shop and manage to make a living for himself again.
On Tuesday night there was a fire which affected his shop. While this time his stock escaped damage, the store has been damaged to the point that he doesn't know when he will be able to re-open.
Lets help David to get through these next few weeks of uncertainty and ease the burden for him so he can focus on rebuilding his business.
David hs just had a fire in his shop and therefore lost his income. He is a good friend who has done a lot for me, so now is my turn to help him.
David needs to be able to do all the day to day stuff, pay bills, buy food etc.
There will probably also be unexpected costs with re-establishing the shop. Although it is rented, he may have to relocate, another expense.
Updatefrom David 7 February 2018
David has asked me put the following on the page.
"I am very grateful to everyone that has made donations and offered support, some known and others unknown to me. Along with Lynne starting the page, I very much appreciate all the help. It has certainly made it easier to get through this time. The major repairs to the roof, new power cables/wiring installed etc; have now been done and with the internal ceiling about to be repaired, I will be re-opening on Friday the 9th of February.
The Bower fish Supply next door will also be opening again on the same day and I hope any local fish & chip lovers will support them as they also have had no income over this period.
Thank you to everyone once again, it has meant more to me than you can imagine.
David.
