Let’s help Miranda fund her Cancer treatment

$11,225 donated
Given by 75 generous donors in one year

To help Brad & Miranda fund her next stage of Cancer treatment

Whangamata, Waikato

As many of you know, Miranda’s world changed in 2020 where she was diagnosed with Stage 4 Metastatic Breast Cancer and was spreading to her bones.

It started with her L1 collapsing just 2 weeks after her diagnoses where she underwent surgery to put in two metal pins to secure her spine in place. We saw her tackle this huge hurdle with the most positive mindset and in true Miranda style still thinking of everyone else around her.

Miranda has hit 2 years since she started treatment which has now stopped working for her. Miranda’s Cancer has spread to other areas including her spine and hips.

Miranda and her Oncologist have had to look at options for her which are a non funded medication in New Zealand.

The current medication (Everolimus) she is on cost $2,500 a month and is about to transition to the next medication with a whopping cost of $8,000 per month.

The pressure of funding her next month is building and as you could imagine it’s becoming very stressful.

Miranda is one of the kindest people many of us know, She never asks for help and in fact she feels uncomfortable doing so.

Miranda needs the help of the people around her so she can keep fighting this terrible hand she has been dealt.

All funds raised here will be going to support her cover the cost of her treatment.

We know asking for support of people in challenging times can be a big ask, we appreciate everyone’s support big or small.

Update  25 September 2022

Thank to everyone who has donated to help Miranda fund her medication. Miranda's last scan shows a spread in her cancer in both her back and hip, with this change she has now moved to the next step in medication which cost over $8,000 per month. The name of this medication is Olaparix, unfortunately this is not funded in New Zealand. To help us fund more than one months medication cost we would really appreciate if you could share this with friends and family.
