Help us help the Tyrell Whānau during difficult times
Picton, Marlborough
This whānau have recently received some very difficult news. Susana is an active member of our community. She is always the first to put her hand up to help when help is needed. While the family figure out what next, we'd like to give them a helping hand.
Some words from Susana;
"Talofa! Jason Tyrell, my husband, who is caring, loving and a hard working father of Louis (12), Chelseanna (10), and Jenmah (6) and the main provider of our the family. Sadly, everything has changed on September 15th when the doctor in Picton Medical Centre called him to urgently pick up a letter and take it to Wairau hospital Emergency “it could be a life threatening situation”.
Two and a half months later after; many tests, CT scans, MRI, biopsy and weekly visits to the doctor in and out of the hospital, we were told Jason has pancreatic cancer, "don't worry it's NOT spreading".
He was scheduled for surgery on December 12th only to find out the cancer is already spreading around the lymph and to his liver. He is stage 3 and he's got 1- 2 years to live. In this case there's nothing that they can do and recommended to us to start chemotherapy to slow the growth of the cancer. Our children and myself are devastated about the whole situation.
Jason is no longer working, and I work part time. We are already struggling financially. We appreciate anything you can spare and will gladly receive your kind words and compassion through this stage of our lives"
