Humans are the reason strays are overpopulating countries, and we need to help to make changes.

Imagine that you are a dog and you wake up in a beautiful house, in a comfortable couch with food and water, waiting for you to eat it, and with a loving owner rubbing your belly, and that goes for days and days. But then you grow up, your owner stops thinking you are cute, stops feeding and rubbing your belly and abandons you on the street. On the street you don’t have access to food and clean water and you have nowhere to sleep. Sometimes you are hot and dry and sometimes you are cold and wet from the snow. And everyone’s hitting you and yelling at you to go away. How would you feel? Dogs also have feelings like we do, when they are strays they feel lonely, sad and many other feelings. I believe that people should support stray animals by donating money because, people are the reason animals become stray, also because it affects us and our environment, and finally stray animals deserve to be treated fairly and with the support of donations we can make a difference.

I believe people should donate money to support stray animals, because people are the reason animals end up on the streets. For example people abandon their dogs because, they don’t want a dog anymore, because they are not puppies anymore, because when the dogs get injured they don’t want to pay for them and more selfish reasons. Animals on the street suffer and their suffering is caused by human choices. Humans make the choice to adopt that cute puppy, they make the choice to let their dogs reproduce. Humans are the ones with the choices, not the stray animals. Humans should make the right choice for once to donate to an important cause and help stray animals.

Also, stray animals affect us and our environment. For example they affect us through their dog poo or feces. Animal feces cause issues such as; standing in it, the smell and there is actually bacteria and germs in dog poo that can make humans very sick. When it rains, the rain can cause the dog poo to seep into the drains , which pollutes the water and can make us sick. Also stray dogs affect us through noise pollution. Often dogs will bark at night, keeping us awake. With no owner to stop them this becomes a problem. In Tianjin and Beijing alone there are over 1.3 million stray animals, with full shelters. Can you imagine the noise pollution and dog feces left by all these dogs? To save our environment we need to help.

I also believe that donating money would help stray animals be treated fairly. Animals deserve to experience the same rights as people. Stray animals also deserve a happy life just like we do. Just imagine that you are a stray dog and everyone is hitting you, you don’t have food, you don’t even have access to clean water and you have no place to sleep. Stray animals are the same like people, they have feelings like people, they also have thoughts like people, and they also have emotions like people, the only difference between stray animals and people is that people have more choices. Donations could provide good housing, food and clean water to animals currently living in shelters and it could also help shelters to advertise dogs they currently have, which might bring further awareness to the problem.

So.. You should help! Make a donation, so we can support shelters and take ownership over how animals are treated. We can help stray have a better and happier life through one small donation.

My students are focusing on their action of trying to support the increasing numbers of stray animals in China

Use of funds

We have already put money into rehoming one dog from Tianjin to Shanghai. We would like to donate some money to a shelter in Tianjin to support them to neuter and feed more strays that are found on the street. I currently live in Tianjin and my class and I will be passing the funds directly onto a shelter in Tianjin.
