Carter's health is fragile and his family manage his high health needs everyday. Due to an accident their family needs help.
Southland
At Mataura School we have a very special student who requires special care for his health. Carter (7 years old) was born with gastrosis which resulted in short bowel syndrome and each day is fed through a central line to his heart and a special portal to his stomach. Carter's health is fragile.
To add to this the family now have another patient. Tyson- Carter's Dad- was the victim in a car crash south of Mataura in February. He has now returned home with a broken femur and extensive body injuries. He is unable to work.
We would like our community to help this family out with the unexpected costs that have occurred through having both these patients in and out of hospital, and Tyson unable to work.
We are a school in a rural town in Eastern Southland. We have great teachers and supportive whanau. Our roll sits around 100, we do have extras that come in for work each year.
The funds will be spent on petrol and costs associated with hospital trips for both Carter and Tyson. The money raised will help them keep this household afloat.
