Levi is 9, who has just completed his milestone 96th surgery . Please help me to create some magic for him up here and at home x

Canterbury

Levi and his older twin Konrad are identical micro twins (born extremly early)

From day one Levi has had to fight to stay alive .

He was born with N.E.C - Necrotizing Enterocolitis ( basically his bowel was dying)

He had life saving surgery at 9days old which resulted in major loss of his large Bowel.

Over the past 9 years Levi has endured the loss of his entire large bowel and 3/4 of his small bowel which has resulted in a total of 96 surgeries and procedures on his bowel alone .

Levi also suffers from Tetrology of Fallot (heart condition in which he has had some surgeries for )

I have created this page as this current episode that has resulted in a long stay in Christchurch hospital has been going on for 12 weeks so far ...

At the beginning of December 2018 , Levi became incredibly unwell his stomach was beginning to distend which caused him incredible pain .

By the beginning of January his distended abdomen had taken us back to what he looked like when he was born .

We had presented at Dunedin hospital on several occasions . I'll just add that Mr Levi is far from your normal kid and he never presents with symptoms you would look for normally.

A few weeks later we rushed to the Dunedins Emergency department as this time he was grabbing his heart , X-rays were done which showed massive amount of blockages / strictures in what bowel he had remaining.

A Helicopter was called for an emergency flight up to Christchirch hospital , Levi was in a very bad way , he wasn't strong enough and the surgeons decided the safest way was to get a line in him and get him as strong as possible before going in and trying to fix the main cause .

I am a single parent to the twins Levi and Konrad and also there 3 year old wee sister , I had not long started full time employment which ment I was not entitled to any paid sick leave , a few days after Levi was flown up to Christchurch , I made the heart wrenching decision to head back to Dunedin to work as I had no access to money and bills were stacking up with taking days off here and there .

I made sure that Levi was stable before I headed back to Dunedin, Levi's Nana came up to be with Levi while I went to work .

After a week of work I came back up , Levi was still in lots of pain but in himself relaxed , fast forward to today just over 5 weeks later and he has just completed round 3 of surgery .

I have no idea of what's next .

I have created this page in order to help relieve some pressure of the financial pressure of all the bills that are stacking up at home , as well as contributing for the care of Levis brother and sister back home and also allow me to do some amazing things with Levi when he is up to it that would take him out of the hospital .

There is no Cure for Levi and no end in sight .

Use of funds

The funds will be used to help with the day to day as well as exciting things for Levi to do on good days

Any surplus money will go to our home away from Home Ronald McDonald House South Island

Days are good...nights not so much   6 March 2019

This kid just amazes me , he has always been able to adapt to situations and basically pretend he is fine all while hiding the mass amount of pain he is in so in his words doesn't ruin other people fun .

He pushes him self to the limit , laughs and smiles through pain but for the first time in his life .... look at this photo .

This is a photo of a kid who for nearly 10 years has fought pain constantly , fought pain that was bearable , fought pain the was beyond what any drug could suppress....

But this photo Ladies and Gentleman is of a Kid who is smiling because for the first time he had no pain

This is a photo that captures who my cheeky son is , it captures exactly what he has fought for , it captures emotion and pure happiness everything a kid deserves .

And last but not least it shows no pain

He is smiling 😊😍😎

Tonight hasn't been the best but I'm hoping with a sleep ,TPN & Lipids this kid ,my kid will wake up feeling the best he can .
