Hi, my goal is to try and raise money to go with my college team & our robot to compete in the VEX Robotics World Championships in Kentucky!
Auckland
Hi, My name is Levi and I'm a Year 12 student at Glenfield College. Since i started at college i have been part of the GCEC Robotics team competing against other schools in the Auckland area and also the whole country each year at the VEX Nationals competition. Those teams who qualify get given a place in the World VEX Robotics competition which is being held in Louisville Kentucky, USA, this time.
BUT it costs a lot to get us there and we need roughly $4500 per student to cover basics, flights, accommodation, food and travel costs to get to the venue each day, not including any money to have any fun and experience USA while were there.
We are trying to get as much corporate and government funding as we can and our parents are also working madly doing everything they can but we only have 1 WEEK LEFT to raise the money. We fly out right after Easter weekend on April 8th, if you could help me get there to compete against some of the greatest in the world it would be awesome, even if its only $5 it all adds up.
Taking part in VEX robotics and competing against other like minded people is awesome and stretches my mind and skills, i am currently aiming towards joining Massey university in 2018 to start a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering, with everything i have done and will do with robotics in college i will have a definite head start at University.
Thank you for your time and we hope you have a great day :)
A bit of history if your interested;
What we do and have done
One of Glenfield College’s GCEC 5 robotics teams have been awarded the top NZ VEX Robotics prize at the 2015 VEX NZ Nationals. This competition was held at Vodafone Events Centre in Manukau 27 February to 1 March.
There were 70 teams competing in 2 divisions vying for tournament champion and for the highly sort after top prize of the Excellence award.

In 2013 the GCEC top 3, including myself we're flown across to Tianjin in Northern China to compete in their robotics competition and to show why NZ keeps winning on the world robotics stage.
