Help us develop a LGBTQIATakatāpui+ policy tool to make sure queer issues are front and centre this election
Auckland
Kia ora e te whānau!
Rainbow law is a rapidly growing student organisation that formally kicked off in 2019. Our kaupapa is dismantling heterosexism, cissexism in Aotearoa New Zealand. We value whanaungatanga (community-building), mōhiotanga (education and consciousness raising) and kōkirikiri (advocating for policy and legal change).
We would love your help to support our next project. Aotearoa will have a general election in September and we want to make sure queer, genderqueer and sexual characteristic issues are at the forefront of the conversation (alongside coronavirus - let's be real). Over the next month we want to develop an interactive policy tool that lists the rainbow policies that we think should be adopted by political parties and shows you which parties support which policies (think The Spinoff policy tool, queer version). We'll develop this tool in collaboration with other rainbow organisations to make sure we get it right. You'll be invited along to a launch party with all your favourite (or maybe least favourite) politicians. The most important policies will be prioritised by us for further activism to get the conversation started for change.
If you donate make sure to let us know what reform you want to see in New Zealand in the comment section
Money will go towards developing a website to host our policy tool, expenses for our launch event and koha for volunteers.
