Thanks to each of the donations made Liam’s processors were ordered and a few weeks later arrived.

James and I were in Christchurch at the time so we were able to go along when

Liam when he had his first appointment with the audiologist to fit them. The processors were ‘mapped’ for Liam and switched on. The new processors sound quite different so challenging for Liam. He has an adjustment period and will then go back for further ‘mapping’. Liam is excited by what they can do. We are so very thankful for the support and care for Liam and his need. He will post a video update.

So thrilled that Liam has his new ears. A privilege to play a tiny part of this journey. I hope the transition goes well for him. X

  • New Ears for Christmas

      26 October 2019

The wonderfully exciting news is that it’s looking like Liam will have new ears for Christmas.

    ♥️ ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

Liam is so incredibly excited. His desperate need is looking like a reality so he has started to talk to Cochlear and is super excited about the specs and how different his life will be.

Then there is the colour choices.... Liam is thinking most likely black with a subtle silver trim. Another option is to go bold with white.

In donating to Liam’s ears you have made such a difference to Liam’s life. So importantly you have sent Liam a message that he is not alone, people care. Thanks so very much ♥️ I can’t convey my appreciation.

I am so moved by a sense of caring, support and community with those we know and those we don’t. Thank you.

      Hi Liam

Great idea to do the video. It filled in lots of background for me and importantly, in your words and voice. We’ve never met but I had the very great privilege of meeting your parents on the Camino de Santiago in 2017. I was struck then by their integrity and their grounded quality. They’ve given me more than they know so when a chance came to return in kind, it was a no brainer. I look forward to hearing more as you progress towards the target and then to share in the news of the hoped for improvement with the implant thereafter.

      Cheers
