Life Off Track: Help Ian Recover From 4wd Crash

I’m Ian — a 22-year-old truck driver and off-the-clock mechanic. I’d just bought a 4WD to rebuild when a towing accident changed everything.

While towing, the brakes failed — and two 4WDs, strapped together, rolled down Turn Table Hill in Moerewa. I fractured multiple vertebrae (C2, C4, C5, C6, T1, T2), broke my neck, suffered a brain bleed, and was left paralysed from the neck down. My life literally flipped in an instant.

Now I’m facing a long road of rehab, specialised equipment, and adapting to a new way of living — including a wheelchair and modified vehicle for independence.
