To maintain an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) to save lives
Flat Bush, Auckland
Back in 2019 I ran a Give a Little page to help me raise funds to by an AED to help me when I go to people who are suffereing a cardiac event. We managed to raise the funds to buy the AED and for that I am thankful.

A sudden cardiac arrest will kill nine out of ten patients it affects if bystanders do not intervene. AEDs were developed to enable non-medical personnel to administer life-saving electrical shocks to the heart of a person experiencing a heart attack. I respond to medical emergency that happen within a 2km radius of me at anytime via an app (GoodSam). If someone calls 111 about a life threatening issue and a responder is close we get alerted also. With a heart attack the odds of recovery greatly increase if someone attends and administers CPR. It also increases more if an AED is available and used.
I am now coming to you all again to ask for a bit more money to pay for replacment Pads and maintneance of the AED.
When I attened a cardiac event the pads need to be replaced at a cost of around $200 each. Also the battaires are drained and thay cost around $125 a set. I am asking if anyone can assist me to afford these parts so I can have the right tools should I need them to save a life. In the last month alone I have attended 2 callouts. Having an AED to hand has been a real life saver. Thank you for your consideration and any money you can spare to help me save a life.
