$51 of $1,400 goal
Given by 5 generous donors in around 3 months

The mobility will ensure that every student we visit will be able to access our mobile classrooms.

Auckland

Ensuring every child can gain access into Life Education Trust Countie Manukau's six mobile classrooms is a top priority.

The mobility ramp will allow ALL students to participate in the unique educational experience offered by Life Education.

Life Education provides health education to primary and intermediate students in state of the art mobile digital classrooms. The immersive experience sees specialist educators teach students how to make healthy choices throughout their lives.

Unique life-changing health education is offered to students from Ponsonby to Tūākau to Orere with Life Education wanting every student to be able to participate.

Last year more than 45,000 students visited the six mobile classrooms, however existing ramps aren’t designed for heavier modern wheelchairs. This means these students are either taught outside of the state of the art learning environments or some students with disabilities miss out. This is not OK. Life Education wants to make sure every student can participate.

With over 130 schools inviting us to share our preventative health message programme across Counties Manukau every year, it is vital that the service we provide leaves no child out and this fits in with Life Education’s vision of enabling children to reach their full potential.

Tim adds “Life Education’s three principles include that everyone is unique and special and we educate students that there is a need to make everyone feel comfortable with their identity and this includes supporting and respecting each other.”

The ramp exclusively made by CUBRO in Tauranga, will be easy to assemble and moved between sites and with the aim of also share it amongst other Life Education Trusts in Auckland when needed.

About us

Life Education Counties Manukau taught more than 45,000 students in preschools, primary schools and intermediates from Ponsonby in the North, to Orere in the East and Tūākau in the South, during 2016.

We work in preschools, primary schools and intermediates to provide children with the knowledge to make positive choices about health, build resilience and celebrate their uniqueness.

Life Education’s work enhances the quality of children's lives, with the purpose of educating and empowering children to make healthy decisions so they can live their lives to the fullest.

Our programme focuses on building strong, healthy and confident children in partnership with our local schools.

Every lesson is planned to suit particular age groups and through annual visits, this information is retained, built upon and used by our students as they grow.

Our principal sponsor is Auckland Airport. Our Māori name Waiora Tamariki was gifted to us by the team at the airport marae, Te Manukanuka o Hoturoa.
