Lifelong companion Alia‘s Surgery

Alia is my mum Sandra’s lifelong companion and best friend.

She is 6 years old and the best dog anyone could ever wish for! She is loyal,trustworthy, and has a lot of love to give.

Ali was a very active and happy dog until recently when she was having trouble walking, then at times couldn’t walk at all. This has been very upsetting for mum (Sandra) to see Ali in pain and crippled when she is normally very active and happy.

Ali is currently at Massey University Vet clinic in Palmerston North awaiting surgery to repair the herniated disk in her upper neck next week.

This is a big surgery physically for Alia, emotionally for Mum (and for all of us as a family) and also financially. The surgery has a high chance of success and she will be back to her usual active happy self and getting back to long walks with mum and even longer cuddles.

After the surgery she could be at Massey for as long as a month for rehabilitation.

Sandra truely is an angel on earth- she is the best mum, nan, and friend, and anyone that has ever had the privilege of meeting her would agree she has the biggest, kindest heart and would go over and above to help anyone she can.

Sandra has volunteered for many local charity’s in the community over the years and has touched the lives of so many people.

Mum resides in Napier and has been travelling back and forth to Palmerston North to see Ali when she can as the cost of this is very hard for mum as a pensioner.

All donations will go towards Alia’s vet fees for the Tests, MRI scan, surgery, rehabilitation, which right now is at $8000+( but there could be more costs), and the cost of travel and accommodation for mum to visit her beloved Alia.
