Helping Wellington schools access support for students who have, or are at risk of developing, mental health issues.

The demand for youth mental health services far outweighs the support available today. Lifting the Lid Wellington's mission is to help schools source additional or complementary interventions for students who are deemed to have, or are at risk of developing, mental health issues.

Lifting the Lid originated in Australia and was launched in Wellington in August 2022 by the Rotary Club of Port Nicholson. Since that time, the programme has garnered strong support from, and is currently funded by, the Rotary Clubs of Wellington.

While Rotary’s contributions have been instrumental in kickstarting this initiative, the need for broader support is apparent.
