The Light Party is a family-friendly, fun, community event! Held the 31 October each year, it was created as an alternative to Halloween.

Otago

The Light Party takes place at the Forsyth Barr Stadium in Dunedin. Literally thousands of people come to the party, bringing their kids, friends and families. There are lots of fun things to do, from multiple bouncy castles, to face-painting, craft-making and more, plus live music all evening. Food is available, too!

Another event, the Dunedin Community Christmas Dinner, was formerly organized by Rev David & Jean Brown. When they retired from the role, Grant and Anne Hardy formed the Trust, with an additional trustee, for the purpose of continuing the annual dinners plus other community events and enterprises, such as the Light Party.

About us
