Lil Sausie man is injured & we are raising funds for his medical care & recovery.
Bay of Plenty
Late evening on the 4th of October Lil Man was found by the driveway of his home saturated, filthy, hypothermic and crying in pain, with an obvious broken leg. He was rushed to the after-hours vet, where he spent the night in an incubator on pain meds & IV fluids to stabilise him. Initial X-rays showed a broken back leg & pelvis.
The following morning, he was taken to another vet for more X-rays and second opinion, which unfortunately found he also has damage to his ribcage.
Lil Man is currently stable in vet care, on IV fluids, pain relief, anti-inflammatory meds & antibiotics, whilst we wait to gauge the extent of his internal injuries and crucially, to see if he is able to toilet by himself.
As you can imagine this has come as a huge shock for Lil Man’s human mama.
We are asking for donations towards his medical care & ongoing treatment. The next 24-48 hours are crucial & decisions regarding surgery, treatment & recovery will be made with Lil Man's best interests at heart.
All going well, orthopedic surgery will be required to fix his broken leg, and he will be on cage rest for at least 6 weeks while his leg and pelvis heals.
We will update you on his progress as soon as decisions are made. Any donations will be gratefully accepted, if you are unable to donate please share this.
Thank you so much on behalf of Lil Sausie Man & his distraught mama.
I'm a good friend of Sausie man's mama & lil Sausie.
Medical bills, ongoing care, surgery all going well and rehabilitation. Sausie's mama will need to adapt her working schedule while he's recovering. All money will be spent in aid of Sausie.
Post surgery update - Lil man is now bionic Lil man 18 October 2025
Lil Man had his second surgery earlier this week, this time to repair his broken left elbow. He must have been so uncomfortable & in pain. His mama is so diligent and of course noticed straight away.
He's recovering well & learning to adapt to his new normal which is crate rest for his recovery.
His mama is grateful to the awesome team at Omokoroa Pet Vets for being so accommodating to him and her. Really stoked that they're happy with his femur repair too.
Lil man is now the bionic lil man, thank you so much for the donations so far. So grateful for the generosity, please keep sharing to help with the unexpected vet bills.
Thanks hun, really appreciate it!
