Help Our Grandma Liudmila Receive Cancer Treatment

More than three years ago, our beloved Grandma Liudmila was diagnosed with skin cancer. She had to undergo a long course of radiation therapy in Russia — all the while dreaming of meeting her first great-grandson, Sebastian, who had just been born in Auckland.

Once her treatment was complete, she was finally able to travel to New Zealand and spend precious time with him.

After returning home and recovering, she came back to New Zealand last year while I was pregnant with our second son — wanting to be close during this special moment in our lives.

Shortly after Aiden was born in March, Grandma received devastating news: the cancer had returned and spread to her lymph nodes. Thankfully, it had not affected any other organs, and she underwent urgent surgery here in Auckland.

To reduce the risk of recurrence, she now needs to undergo another round of radiation therapy.

Because she’s not a New Zealand resident, and because insurance companies don’t cover treatment for recurring cancer, all the costs fall on our family. The total cost of treatment is $65,000 NZD — an overwhelming amount, and we’re in urgent need of support.
