Liz's Marathon Fundraiser for MS

  • Liz's update - after the event!

      2 May 2016

A huge thank you to all the wonderful people who got behind the fundraiser, the amount raised was amazing. I am happy to report that I survived (have the shirt and medal to prove it) and actually enjoyed the event. The weather was perfect and I had lots of lovely supporters on the day. I wore the “Kiss goodbye to MS” shirt with pride and felt honoured to run for the clients of MS Waikato. For those interested in time, I managed the 42km run in 5hours and 13 seconds!

Thanks again for the fabulous support.

  • Liz's Update

      18 April 2016

What wonderful support for our great organisation, it kept me going while I ran 15kms of hills (slowly!) last Friday.

Training is on track it’s hard but I knew it wouldn’t be easy. I decided I needed to see the course so went to Rotorua yesterday and drove around the lake. Not sure if it was the best idea or not, I am going between “yep I can do this” to “what the hell was I thinking” and feeling quite sick! I know one thing, at about the 38km mark when I probably just want to sit down and cry, I will think of our wonderful brave clients, all the generous supporters and I will make sure I get over the finish line!
