Showing love to Polly and the children she had with Steve.
Queenstown, Otago
Polly is well-known in the Queenstown-Lakes community for providing pregnancy and birth care for women and safely bringing new life into the world for many families. She is heavily involved in her community, through volunteering for Search and Rescue, as a mum within the Queenstown Play Centre and St Joseph’s School communities, as an Adventure Racer (where she met Steve) and through her work at Invercargill hospital.
She is an asset to the Queenstown Lakes and wider Central Otago and Southland communities, with many babies, women and families receiving Polly’s support, nurturing and care.
Unfortunately, it is now Polly’s turn to receive support, nurturing and care from her community. Tragically, after a three-year courageous and hard-fought battle with glioblastoma, Polly has lost her beloved husband Steve, and their children Asa (7), Olive (6), Murphy (5) and Alaska (4) have lost their father.
The last three years have involved tremendous resource – financially, emotionally, physically, spiritually and logistically in Steve’s battle for more time. His loss is devastating for the family, and we wish to raise support for Polly and the four children she had with Steve to help ease a little bit of the stress and burden of the adjustment to raising four young children as a one parent household.
It will be a long road ahead. Let’s show Polly our love for her, Steve, Asa, Olive, Murphy and Alaska.
Please share far and wide.
