Locks for Life: Uganda Wildlife Education Centre

$750 of $3,000 goal
Given by 7 generous donors in 8 weeks

Help protect precious wildlife and their keepers at Uganda Wildlife Education Centre by providing quality padlocks for their enclosures.

Nationwide

Uganda Wildlife Education Centre (UWEC) exists to educate the public on conservation of wildlife especially the young generation.

They provide a wildlife rescue centre, treatment for sick or injured animals, wildlife quarantine services, and contribute to species recovery programmes.

Having recently volunteered there I was so impressed by their work and their dedicated staff. However a simple thing is hindering their work and the safety of staff, wildlife and visitors. They cannot access quality padlocks locally. This means locks constantly rust and break causing potentially dangerous and life threatening situations.

In collaboration with UWEC, I am raising money to provide the locks and they will contribute the shipping costs.

By donating to Locks for Life you will be contributing to wildlife conservation and education in a very practical way. Thank you.

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
