In Memory Hospice Cancer

My beautiful and inspirational friend Briar Lobb passed away on the 11th of February 2014 at the age of 27 years after battling Cervical Cancer. Briar showed me the strength and courage to fight my own illness and although my time with her was brief her impact on my life and many of those around her has been profound.

Georgia, what a privilege to know you and have you as a family friend and a Sister. Your amazing story and the journey you are on right now deeply touched our heart and we feel that you are an incredibly strong young lady who no matter what she is still smiling. Wish we could just take away the pain and all those things you hate away from you but we sadly can't. What we can is to be there for you and cheer you up with all the other Sisters :) Keep up the good work you are so inspirational. Love from all of us. XX

Just read your story in the paper - inspirational young woman, you are! A joy to see someone giving back and paying it forward all at the same time! I hope you're as proud of yourself as I'm sure your mum is of you!

Briar showed me the strength and courage to fight my own illness and although my time with her was brief her impact on my life and many of those around her has been profound.

My goal is to fundraise for the Arohanui Hospice in Palmerston North where Briar spent time being cared for before returning home to be nursed by her incredible mum Bev. I will be donating 25cm lengths of my hair to the Pantene Beautiful Lengths organisation so they can use it in the making of a wig, (hopefully in the next couple of weeks) who knows, I may even "brave the shave" after that. All donations are graciously accepted and appreciated from the depths of my heart and the many families of the Arohanui Hospice.
