  • More tragedy for Romel

      20 July 2020

Let me start this update with a request for a prayer. I am very sad because for the third time, another tragedy struck Romel and his family. His eldest sister Charity Onganiza Pao suffered a major heart attack last Friday. Before I could upload this update of her condition, she passed away this afternoon. She left 3 children and with the COVID still lingering back home, Romel is becoming more and more depressed. In less than two months, he lost his Mum, his house and his sister. We are again knocking on your kind hearts for help. I cannot imagine what is going through his mind, all can only unload his burden this way so please let us help him. Most grateful to everyone.

Last week, I posted an update about the worsening situation in the evacuation center as a result of second fire. I have also mentioned about the aggravating situation that the school will be starting soon that urgent accommodation for the family is now urgently needed. My fear has come. The new photo will show you that the family's tents have now been moved into the footpath outside the school ground the school ground in prepartion to upcoming school commencement. Finding rentable accommodation is a struggle so I appeal and knocking in your hearts to please help the family find a decent temporary accommodation through your donations to his fundraising page. Thank you very much for your support.

  • Aftermath of the fire and current situation

      29 June 2020

Thank you friends and families. Today I have decided to upload a video of the aftermath of the fire in Mandaluyong where I have created this fundraising appeal for the family of Romel Onganiza. The sad reality is that, all victims are still congregated in a communal area and tents. A week after this fire, another fire two blocks away from where his family lives broke out. So this further hampered the situation of all those living in the evacuation centers. I cannot emphasize enough how much help is need to recover from this tragedy considering the school year will begin end of this month and all tents are dispersed in the ground of these public schools. Aggravating his situation, Romel has 3 children who are also supposed to start back at school. With my thoughts are with his family, I continue to knock in your hearts and please share this page to all your friends. We are grateful we have a community that are kindhearted and ready to help out. Thank you and God Bless you all.

Thanks for your support so far. I thought to upload new picture to show the current situation of the family of Romel Onganiza. In less than a week, 2 big fires gutted their area and everyone is now living in one congested evacuation of more than 1000 families. Everything is communal and with COVID still lingering around, this adds to the anxiety of everyone. I would really love to see this page is shared to your circle of friends and we are very grateful for helping this family go through the difficult situation. Thank you all.

  • Another Fire 4 blocks away

      8 June 2020

In less than a week, another huge fire engulfed the area of Addition Hills, Mandaluyong. This is in the same area where Romel's family home was gutted down by fire. Another 200 houses were lost on top of the 800 houses lost on Tuesday of the same week. The desperation is kicking in as the evacuation centers become over-crowded. The area has the highest listed COVID active cases reported in the municipality. My words are enough to express our gratitude but we are very thankful but I also wish to emphasize the desperation for basic necessities for Romel's family of 4 living in one tent among
