Support for our whanau after a house fire burnt and took everything.
Blenheim, Marlborough
Kia ora,
My uncle and I unfortunately lost EVERYTHING in a sudden house fire—and we mean EVERYTHING. The flames even spread to our vehicle, completely destroying it. We are very grateful that we are safe and no one was hurt, but we have been left with nothing but the clothes on our backs.
Very unexpected, the cause of fire was by making dinner and the stove caught fire.
Neither of us had insurance, and every single thing we owned was inside that house. I didn’t want to create a page like this, but our whanau and friend support encouraged us to reach out so we could get through this with the support of our community, and a reminder that we are NOT alone.
After reflecting on this devastating loss, we know that while sentimental treasures can never be replaced, the essentials can. Things like furniture, clothes, basic everyday necessities, and the cost of rebuilding a new kāinga are what we need to get back on our feet—and that is exactly what your support will go toward.
We appreciate your immense kindness and generosity.
If you aren't in a position to give financially, your prayers, kind thoughts, and sharing this post would mean a lot to us.
Thank you so much to everyone who HAS supported us during this difficult time.
Arohanui.
New furniture, clothing, just everything in general really, literally everything we own went up in flames.
