  • Let's celebrate Louise (this Saturday at 2pm)

    Hello to all Louise’s family and friends,

    Just a quick reminder of the gathering at Louise's memorial bench (#Lousplace) this coming Saturday 6th November at 2pm. It's a year since we lost Louise, so lets take this opportunity to celebrate her life and have an early celebration of her birthday.

    Join family and friends for a snack and a drink at #Lousplace #Lousplace is located at the North end of Titahi Bay beach. Once you walk across the beach past the boatsheds, but before the rocks, there are some concrete steps up to her bench. Vehicle access is also via Lambley Road, althought there is limited parking available.

    If we know in advance that the weather is wet, we will advise….perhaps an alternative meeting place. If this is necessary an update will be posted to Louise's memorial page (Louise's facebook page) on the day.

  • A celebration of Louise's life and her birthday

    Hello to all Louise’s family and friends,

    As you know we have the date saved for the 6th of November for a casual gathering at Louise's memorial bench (#Lousplace). Its a year since we lost Louise, so lets take this opportunity to celebrate her life and have an early celebration of her birthday.

    This will be held at 2pm on the 6th November, at #Lousplace, where, in true Louise fashion, we will celebrate with a glass of bubbles and something to eat (if the weather behaves 😊) Jandals preferred, yet not essential.

    The location of the bench (#Lousplace) is at the North end of Titahi Bay beach. Once you walk across the beach past the boatsheds, but before the rocks, there are some concrete steps up to her bench. Vehicle access is also via Lambley Road, althought there is limited parking available.

    Again, the family would like to extend their thanks to you for generosity in contributing to this memorial space and for your friendship with Louise. We all look forward to seeing you there. If we know in advance that the weather is wet, we will advise….perhaps an alternative meeting place.

  • Save the date

    The family would like to give other family and friends plenty of time to save the date for a celebration of Lous life, allowing for those travelling from out of town to get in early with flights.

    This will be held the weekend of the 6th November at Lous place at Titahi Bay beach. This will be a BBQ and bubbles celebration in true Louise style. More details to come closer to the time. However, jandals maybe part of the dress code 🥰 Lou would love that x

    Please note, a donation of $763.27 has been made in memory of Louise to the SPCA using excess funds raised.

  • Louise's memorial bench

    Hello kind friends and family,

    I just wanted to give you all a quick update as things have come together beautifully for our lovely Louise.

    As many of you probably know, Louise's beach side bench is now installed and can be found at the North end of Titahi Bay beach. Once you walk across the beach past the boatsheds but before the rocks, there are some concrete steps up to her bench. Vehicle access is also via Lambley Road.

    The family are hoping to gather with friends and family there probably somewhere between the 4th-18th November this year, so we can have a celebration of Lou's life at Lou's place with bubbles and a BBQ. We will send out more details closer to the time.

    We will in the meantime be planting some native flax next to the bench for Lou to attract the tui.

    We do have excess funds raised, so these funds are being donated to the SPCA in Louise's name - Just over $750.

  • Special thanks to your all

    I would like to extend a special thanks to all those who contributed. We well and truly exceeded our target and are exploring ways we might be able to make the space around the park bench more special. There will of course be a very generous donation made to the SPCA in Louise's name.

    The bench is currently in the workshop and the plaques are being made.

    I will keep you all updated on when the bench is installed and when we hope to have a memorial for Lou.
