Baby Lilly is 9 weeks old and has been diagnosed with Trancus Arterosus, a rare heart condition. PLEASE HELP Lilly and her family
Southland
Lilly was diagnosed with Truncus arteriosus at 5 weeks of age.
Truncus arteriosus is a rare type of heart disease that occurs at birth (congenital heart disease), in which a single blood vessel (truncus arteriosus) comes out of the right and left ventricles, instead of the normal two vessels (pulmonary artery and aorta).
Lilly and her Mum and Dad, Diana and Paul are situated in Perth. Diana and Paul are from Invercargill, NZ.
Lilly and her parents, who are first time parents are at Lady Cilento Children's Hospital in Brisbane for corrective heart surgery to save this wee button.
The family have virtually dropped everything in Perth to go to Brisbane for at least a month, if not more. Care and treatment for Lilly will be ongoing throughout her life, her first open heart surgey is now complete and another is required in two years time and each 15 years of her life.
The last few weeks have been hard going, mentally and financially. Please support this Kiwi family with your kind generiosity.
It is hoped the family can return to NZ further down the line but at the moment the main focus is on Lilly and attend to her everyday needs and to get her health on track in Australia.
We hope you can support this family, especially little Lilly. We will provide you any updates of progress as we go along the next few weeks.
Little Lilly has gone through so much and we thank you for your support today.
Lilly is proudly wearing her All Blacks Onesie. Go NZ!
