“Dogs are not our whole life, but they make our lives whole."
Auckland
Hank is no ordinary Dogue (de Bordeaux). He came into the home and hearts of Saffron, Chris and the Clark family after they rescued and rehabilitated him as a puppy after mistreatment and abuse from previous owners. Slowly over time the Clark's showed Hank how to love and how to trust again. He is their pride and joy and just the most wonderful Dogue.
On Friday 13th (yup!) Hank broke out of the boundaries of Clark Hacienda and was hit by a truck going approx 80-100kms per hour. Thankfully their neighbours were on the scene and after immediately contacting Saffron and Chris and through many obstacles they were able to get him the medical attention he needed.
It was touch and go and the first 24 hours were crucial but he survived that first night and is now in a day by day healing and waiting game to get the further medical attention and surgery he may need.
Progress updates will be posted to this page.
This is a very expensive process... So this page is set up for family, friends and dog lovers alike to GIVE A LITTLE towards a wonderful cause. After his rough start in life Hank should be spending his years enjoying his happy life with his humans... Let's see if we can help by making the healing process a little easier for all involved.
I'm a friend who cares... And a fellow Hank Fan!
Hank Update 19 February 2015
Thanks to all of you who have made contributions to Hank's Give A Little page. Unfortunately todays news with the specialist wasn't the best and Hank will no longer be having any surgery as expected. We send our heartfelt condolences to Saffron, Chris and the kids during this sad time as they say their goodbyes.
For those who have already contributed to the Give a Little cause please note that all contributions will still go towards the massive vet bills accumulated over the past 6 days which still exceeds the contributions to date by a long shot.
At Saffron's request I will be closing the Give A Little page at the end of today, Thursday 19th February.
Again, thank you all for showing your support. x
Arohanui Hank.
