Lucky needs a life changing Operation

  • 4TH DAY OF RECOVERY

      5 September 2022

It has been 4 days since Lucky's surgery and he is doing very well, enjoying lots of cuddles, and has no problem yelling for attention. No more wheezing and breathing smoothly, and totally has a huge appetite. He is such a cuddly boy and a perfect angel when taking his meds, thank goodness as most cats are not as behaved. He is not interested in playing but that could be contributed to being on pain meds as well, but he has a lovely heated pad in his bed so he is very toasty warm.

Please consider donating towards his care, his vet bill is at $4k and I have a month to pay it. Lucky sends his Luv

  • Still in hospital

      2 September 2022

2 Sept 2022 - Lucky couldn't come home today as his temperature was still up slightly so he will need to remain in care to be on the safe side. Otherwise, the nurse said he is eating very well and is very vocal constantly demanding food and attention. That's our boy! The specialist will ring in the morning to let me know if he is fit and fighting to come home tomorrow. But after such a big surgery it is always best to be cautious :)

    3/9/22

Picked Lucky up this morning and he is happy to be home, his temperature has stabilised, eating like a trooper and his specialist said he has come through the surgery with limited to no side effects from his surgery. It is a very delicate procedure with so many nerves in his eyes that could potentially be a problem. However, he is looking to be all intact, other than he is deaf in one ear due to the polyp growing through his eardrum. Unfortunately for this wee boy he will remain in confinement for 2 weeks while recovering and he is NOT going to be happy about this as he loves to jump, zip zap, and play with the other kittens, but for his own safety, he will remain in his temporary chill out pad receiving lots of cuddles and attention to help him through his confinement.

  • *Surgery Day*

      1 September 2022

Today 1st September, Lucky had surgery to remove his polyp. Such a brave little boy taking his short trip to the clinic and super cute with all the nurses. Just in time for his surgery as his breathing was reaching critical and he would have needed oxygen assistance if left much longer. Not that you would know it the way he tears around the place, playing fighting the others, jumping off his towers, and zoom zooming everywhere, typical ginger style.

It was a very big surgery and a very LARGE polyp was removed which had grown from his ear to his throat. He is recovering nicely, a bit wobbly on his feet but his breathing is good, tonight he gets to go home with his specialist, and tomorrow he will remain in hospital but hopefully will be allowed to come home Friday night. Please send your love and prayers his way so that he makes a full recovery without any complications.

We are still asking for donations towards his surgery as I have a month to raise money to pay his bill.

  • Lucky’s life saving operation

Lucky’s life saving operation has been booked for the 1st of September, as we cannot wait any longer due to his breathing becoming difficult for him. We are sadly a long way from our target but the other option is for him to be euthanise. So I will beg, borrow and work extra hours as I can’t steal, to save his beautiful life.

He is such an awesome little dude, full of life, so curious, bouncing around everywhere and a typical full on ginger with a very loving personality. As miserable as he must feel this little guy just toughs it out and gets on with his day, a true trooper.

I look at him and my heart breaks, why you little guy? But then I check myself as why is this happening to any of them? No one knows why this occurs and vets are seeing more and more kittens with polyps. I sadly wonder what happens to many of them because of the operation being so expensive.
