27 November 2025The fundraiser will be closing in a couple of days, and I want to say a heartfelt thank-you to everyone who has helped over the past few months. I also want to apologise that the path the specialist pursued didn’t seem to give us any real answers.
Luka has recently been having episodes almost daily, with one lasting eight hours and affecting his breathing badly enough that we had to go to after-hours care the next day. He seems to get himself into a state, and after speaking with some overseas vets, it’s looking more likely that there may be an issue with his throat — possibly laryngeal paralysis.
I’ve been given some guidance on how his throat could be checked without an endoscope by a primary vet, but we’re still struggling to find one willing to do that. For now, we’re taking things day by day. Some days are good, some not so good, and the episodes seem to happen out of nowhere. He also continues to have a constant hard swallow.
As you can see from the invoices, the fundraiser funds were used quickly, and we’re now left with limited options.
