Luke Havill a.k.a Buzz(o)

I just wrote a 20 minute spiel and accidently deleted it I think it went something like this.....well when the accident happened on the 4th November I had a different picture of what brain injury looked like in my head. It was a week in icu, spit the ventilator wake up and return to life as normal.....wrong picture and guess what every single brain injury is different. It is this though: slow, variable and life changing. The best line I’ve heard is time and in the words of the staff “ there is no crystal ball and there is no crystal ball” (where is David Bowie from the labyrinth when you need him.....don’t answer that!)Luke is getting vip treatment apparently being showered once every three days in average (everyone else is on bed wash) wears him out and he sleeps like a baby after. I have him on and ask him if he can smell the “yummy hospital food” I think he actually wants some now his cuff is being deflated and he can smell. I told him we’ll start on the yoghurt and potatoes and gravy and work up to kfc😂he now has a new pillow, of course it’s memory foam!!just the thing for a damaged brain. I haven’t lost my sense of humour and at the end of this Luke is either gonna love me or hate me for it!! I always felt for a long time with Luke being in the middle he felt like he was never really heard or paid attention to enough, I hope now he realises just how much I love him. I also told him he was the cutest baby out of all the kids.... he was a beautiful baby though!! Got to keep his spirits up🤣he is having an operation on Monday to insert peg into his stomach (3 hour op.) as he needs nutrition and he is not awake/able enough to eat yet. Working towards tracheostomy wean too. Not sure how much longer we’ll be in hospital for.....hold on I’ll just get my crystal ball..........................0 thank you everyone for your support it means way more than the donation your making, we have been feeling the love from the moment we got to the hospital, so from the bottom of my heart, thank you, thank you, thank youXx
