Unexpected dog attack while out on an afternoon walk
Christchurch, Canterbury
While on an afternoon walk with myself and my 4 yr old sister, Luna was viciously attacked by another dog. When passing a driveway I had thought to be safe for years, a larger white dog bolted from its open driveway straight to Luna. Leaving her in a horrific condition, all in a matter of seconds.
Luna was rushed to our local vet and treated that night. She spent 2 over night stays at the after-hours vet and has recently returned home to recover.
This incident has caused a lot of heartbreak and trauma for our whānau. We would deeply appreciate any koha and support for our girls recovery.
Luna's owner and witness to the incident
Our main goal is to fundraise enough to cover what we have already paid upfront for Luna's vet bills. This includes her surgery, X-ray, blood tests, 2 over night stays at after-hours, medication and checkups. This has come up close to $3,500.
Funds will be paid to my mother, Hana

Kia Ora! Thank you for showing your support for our page. We appreciate each and everyone who sent their prayers and donations our way, thank you❤️.
As you may know Luna was put to rest on the 9th of August. This was a very difficult decision to make but we as a Whanau recognised that Luna had had enough.
This will be our final update for Luna’s recovery page. I have attached one of my last photos of Luna. We also have a video attached highlighting some beautiful moments of Luna’s life, please feel free to watch. ❤️
