Thank you to all those that follow along on our facebook page, it sure has been a journey and we are enjoying a little bit of downtime from the daily medical world. However its now time we start thinking about the next step in Lydia’s journey and what that entails. We need to keep fundraising to be able to achieve her next surgery and to continue paying off the astronomical debt we have from her 1st surgery. We have been filming for the show Attitude on TV1 and our segment will air on Sun 20th Nov at 12:00pm (midday). We also will start to have some more fundraising events next year which are going to be great fun as well as stressful but really looking forward to getting back into it. Covid rules and lockdowns have stopped a lot of this until now. We will have just under a year to raise funds for her next surgery. My heart is so full, I honestly get blown away most days by the kindness of a stranger or strangers, knowing how much support we have from our community near and far is just amazing. We wish we could personally thank you all. Thank you so much for supporting us and sharing Lydia's journey. 8 weeks until we are on our way eeekk.

We have updated our fundraising goal as we recently found out that our stay in the US will be approx 8-9 months and up to a year. We initially thought we would be there for 5 months and fly home for the consolidation period then return later to the US for the removal of her fixator, this is not the case and we have been recommended not to fly whilst Lydia has a fixator on. So our stay has been extended and we are now fundraising for both surgeries. The amount we need to raise is now approx $500,000.

Proud Mummy moment yesterday. I took Lydia to collect her bike after the final modifications where made to it. She's never ridden a pedal bike before as she has not been been able to do the pedals. She hopped on and within seconds was pedaling, within minutes she was zooming around the shop. Yesterday I picked Lydia up from kindy, she was sitting on the rocking horse having fun. When I asked her why she wasn't coming she replied "well I'm stuck on the horse" not something most of us would think off but she couldn't swing her prosthetic leg to get off and she was using her other leg to balance herself. Poor bubba wonder how long she was stuck on there.
