Raising money for Maddi Cooper, in memory of her mum, Katie.
Northland
Katie Cooper was an amazing, vibrant young woman who died utterly unexpectedly. Katie collapsed unconscious at home on Thursday, July 9th. It was discovered that she had a rare form of brain cyst that had blocked the flow of fluid over her brain causing swelling incompatible with life. The family was advised on Friday that resuscitation had been unsuccessful. It is the family's belief that she had died peacefully at home. She left behind her husband, Vaughan, and her daughter, Maddi, who was only 10 months old at the time. While nothing could ever replace Katie for Maddi (this is the sort of devoted mum who'd cut wheels out of a nappy box to stick them on the washing basket to make a car), we want to try to do something small to make Maddi's life a little easier as she grows up.
I was lucky enough to be Katie's friend.
