Please help Madison get to Portugal to compete in the U23 Canoe Sprint World Championships as part of the NZ team.
Christchurch, Canterbury
Madison is fortunate to have once again been selected to represent her country in kayaking. This time as part of the team competing in the U23 Canoe Sprint World Championships. The event is being held in Portugal, this July, with a two-week training camp in Spain beforehand to help the team acclimatise. Participation is not cheap, however, and even after some funding support from Canoe Racing New Zealand, the bill per athlete is $15,000. We are asking for your generous support to help Madison chase her dream.

As Madison's Dad, I'm extremely proud of Madison, but unfortunately, pride doesn't pay the bills. Any help would be most appreciated.
Flights, accommodation and meals make up the bulk of the costs. Any shortfall in funds will be made up from other fundraising efforts.
Sad news. 7 July 2025
Thanks to everyone again for your wonderful support. Unfortunately, however, there has been an unwelcome development. One of the team had to pull out at the last minute, and no replacement paddler was available. This meant that Canoe Racing NZ had to withdraw their entry from that event. While some of the team could still compete in other events, Madison ended up staying home. This was all happening just before their scheduled departure, with the final decision being made only the night before they were due to leave.
As you can imagine, this was extremely disappointing for everyone involved, particularly Madison.
We are offering to refund all donations made via the Givealittle page, so if you would like to take up this option, please message us with your bank account details. Otherwise, all funds will be held in an account specifically for attending future international events.
Thank you all again for your generous support.
Thanks, Jodi. We really appreciate your support.
