Saved from a car boot sale, Magoo is a Sharpei X French Mastiff female pup who desperately needs treatment to fix her broken eyes.
Wellington
Magoo is a beautiful little pup who I fostered along with her sisters after I found out that they were being sold out of the boot of a car on a freezing cold night. Fearing for their safety I bought all 5 puppies in order to re-home them myself. After getting them vet checked I discovered that one of the puppies (Magoo) had an eye condition called entropion which if left untreated can lead to self trauma, scarring of the eyelid and nerve damage. I need approximately $3800 to get Magoo's eyes fixed so that she can have a happy and bright future like her sisters.
I love animals, and foster pups when I can in order to give them a brighter future. Magoo is one of the pups I have fostered who needs a little bit more help than most to secure her a brighter future. As I am a student nurse I am unable to cover all of the expenses required to fix Magoo's eyes. I will cover as much as I can but I need some help.
Eye Tacking 8 September 2015
Thank you to everybody who has kindly donated so far it means so much to Magoo. Just a quick update, Magoo has started to have her eyes tacked every 10 days so she can temporarily see. She will have to go through this until she has stopped growing at about 9 months old. So the money that has been donated is going to good use as shown in some of the pictures in the gallery where you can see her eyes have been tacked.
Thank-you so so much for the donation. The tacking that we have been doing up to now is just not holding! So far we have had 3 and it requires her to go into surgery every time it’s done. It is not just traumatic for her but is very costly (roughly over $900 all up including medications & consultations etc.). So the vets have decided she needs a bigger operation (3 months earlier than planned, but should be better for her long term). Hopefully it will last longer (even though it will be a bit more invasive than tacking) as it requires the removal of some skin around the eye. So she is having her first major operation in Palmerston North on the 5th of October and that money is such a wonderful gift and is much needed thank-you! She will need another operation when she gets a bit bigger and stops growing. We will keep everyone updated via the Coco & Axel’s Animal Rescue page. Thank-you so so much from: Sam, Anna, Salla, Fynn & Magoo (The Coco & Axel’s Animal Rescue team!)
Thank-you both so much for your donation she is due to have another op this week as the second tacking has come out! Good luck with the new fur baby!
